Rositch Hemphill Architects has designed the new development, tentatively called “Dalgen,” to replace the thrift store, which at one time was also the home of radio station CFUN 1410 AM.

The new building will have four storeys of market rental apartments over ground floor retail. There will be 32 rental apartments, and up to four retail units fronting on West 4th. The units can be combined to create a larger retail space.

The rental apartments will consist of:

  • one studio (434 sq ft.)
  • seven one-bedroom units (595-600 sq ft.)
  • 18 two-bedroom units (792-827 sq ft.)
  • six three-bedroom units (1031-1034 sq ft.)

Two levels of underground parking will also be provided, with access from Cypress Street. An amenity room of 540 sq ft. on the ground floor and a 300 sq ft. patio will be provided for residents.

A community open house will be held on March 22, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Kitsilano Community Centre, located at 2690 Larch Street. The project will then go to the Urban Design Panel on April 4, 2018.
