InGastown condos near completion at Cordova & Main

InGastown by PortLiving is nearing completion near Main Street and Cordova Street.

The new “affordable” condo building has been in the works for several years. The nine storey building features 61 homes with retail space on the first floor. There will also be a common rooftop deck with BBQ and garden plots.

The building does not have any parking spaces except for residents of the penthouse units, but does have a Modo car share program.

The developer had to come with some creative strategies when the building first went on sale in 2013 due to its location one block away from Hastings and Main. A “car for condo” program was launched, with the assessed value of a buyer’s car put towards the downpayment. Buyers then have done very well today, as units started at $269,000 back in 2013. Today, ahead of completion, those same one bedrooms are for sale as assignments at nearly $400,000.
