We are getting a better look at an upcoming residential building proposed for the corner of Alma Street and West 10th Avenue on Vancouver’s west side.

Developer Landa Global is planning a four-storey condo building on the site, with a “classically-inspired” design.

“Classical lines and columns, large windows, and a dramatic light and dark colour scheme distinguish this four-storey mixed-use project in Point Grey,” reads the project’s website.

“The light marble outer structure contrasts beautifully with the sleek, modern backbone of the building, creating an interesting transitional juxtaposition of form which fits in nicely with the elegant and timeless aesthetic and scale of the surrounding neighbourhood.”

The site, a former gas station, was sold to Landa Global in 2015 for $18 million, according to David Taylor of Colliers International. The building was designed by Rafii Architects.

Ugly AF. It’s 2017, not 1987. This pomo rubbish is totally irrelevant to Point Grey and architecture anywhere in the world for that matter. Even Greece has moved onto newer things. Where do these real estate agents and developers learn their tacky marketing strategy from? Are they selling to drug cartels like Tony Montana off Scarface?
