Contemporary rentals planned in Marpole

Three small apartment buildings at the corner of West 71st and Cartier in Marpole will be replaced by a new, three-storey rental building.

The building, designed by Birmingham & Wood Architects and Planners, will contain 39 units, including studio, one, two and three-bedroom layouts.

The design is meant to fit in with the existing neighbourhood context of three-storey apartment buildings, but in a contemporary sense. The exterior features corrugated steel cladding in a contrasting dark grey and white monochromatic palette.

Exterior circulation and balconies will feature perforated metal to allow for light to pass through, while still providing screening and privacy for the units.

There will be one level of underground parking, as well as bicycle parking and an amenity area.
