The days of Triple-O burgers on West Georgia Street in Coal Harbour are numbered.
Shato Holdings Ltd. showed off preliminary designs at an open house earlier this week for a redevelopment of the existing White Spot restaurant at 1616 West Georgia Street.
The proposal is for two condominium towers — 33-storeys and 39-storeys — with a total of 350 units. 274 of those units will be two bedroom or larger. Three-level townhomes will front onto Alberni Street, where the lobbies for both buildings will also be located. There will be 389 parking stalls on four levels of underground parking. The developer is targeting a LEED Gold certification for the project.
One bedroom units in the development will be approximately 502 sq ft., with two bedroom units between 855-1342 sq ft. The penthouse units will have their own private rooftop terraces.
The two narrow towers will be clad in a combination of curtain and window wall in a charcoal grey, as well as light-coloured stone. Architects are IBI Group and PWL Partnership.
The developer and architects hope the project will “define the urban edge of the neighbourhood and contribute to a high quality public realm.”

The additional height and density for these projects is allowed under the new West End Community Plan.
Shato Holdings Ltd. was founded by B.C. businessman Peter Toigo of White Spot fame. The company most recently completed The Spot on Cambie condominium project, also on the site of a former White Spot restaurant at West 13th and Cambie Street.
