Four-storey condo building slated for West 49th and Columbia

GBL Architects has designed a four-storey strata condominium building for a corner lot at West 49th Avenue and Columbia.

The upcoming development at 203-263 West 49th Avenue will include 78 units over ground floor retail space, and 143 parking spaces and 280 bicycle spaces.

The new condominium building is designed with sustainability in mind and will include staggered windows, a conservative window-to-wall ratio of 33 per cent, and sun shades on the south facing (West 49th Avenue) elevation.

The application is being considered under the Cambie Corridor Plan.

The development is located across the street from Langara College, and the Langara YMCA redevelopment, which will include two towers of 14-storeys and 20-storeys.
