Orr Development is proposing a 30-storey, mixed-use tower for a corner site at Sixth Street and Seventh Avenue in Uptown New Westminster.
The tower will include 68 rental units, and 169 market condominiums. Rental units are proposed from levels 2-7, and condominium units from levels 8-30.
Rental units will be managed by the building owner, but will be completely integrated within the market building. Renters and owners will share the entry lobby, amenities, elevators and a single residential entrance off Seventh Avenue. A large outdoor amenity area will be located on the roof of the three storey podium, with an urban agriculture area, kids playground, lounge area and outdoor kitchen with BBQ.
There will be ground level retail, including larger tenants at the building corners and smaller tenants in the middle units. The architect says they have designed large retail spaces on the building’s corners that can activate the small plazas proposed for both the southeast and northeast corners of the site.
The architect on the project is Yamamoto Architecture Inc. Orr Development recently completed the W5 West Fifth development at West 5th Avenue and Burrard Street in Vancouver. Rolls Royce Vancouver is in the process of moving into the development’s ground floor retail space.
