Bonnis Properties is planning to redevelop three buildings it owns on Granville Street, next to the Roxy Cabaret.
The building will be four storeys, with four retail units on the ground floor.
On the second and third floors will be two large retail spaces of 18,490 sq ft. and 17,238 sq ft. respectively.
It’s not known if the space will be outfitted for a particular retailer, but the floor plates are large enough to support a large fashion retailer.
Bonnis Properties owns the retail building at Granville and Robson — home to Best Buy and Winners — which could give a clue into what types of retailers may be planned for this property.
Large retail spaces on Granville Street are rare and there are several major international brands actively looking for space in downtown Vancouver.
The fourth floor will be made up of office space. The exterior will be clad in textured metal cladding, and terracotta tiles. A horizontal screen will run across the Granville Street frontage.
There will be 102 parking stalls underground, with access from the lane. Architects are Perkins + Will.
Bonnis Properties is also behind a new retail and office building proposed for the corner of Seymour and Robson.
