Oxford Properties officially broke ground on The Stack last week, which will be Vancouver’s tallest office tower once complete.
The 530 ft. tower at 1133 Melville Street is targeting to become the first “net zero carbon” tower in Canada. It will complete in Q1 2022 and will house 540,000 sq. ft. of AAA class office space.
Three firms have already signed on to lease space at The Stack: Ernst & Young LLP (‘EY’), Blakes and DLA Piper, taking 207,000 sq. ft. of space collectively.
The Stack will include six outdoor decks with spectacular views, a pocket park and a rooftop patio available to all tenants. There will also be club-quality fitness and cycling facilities, including 250 bike stalls located at ground level, changing rooms and showers with towel service.

The building will have a dedicated drop-off zone with porte-cochère to facilitate passenger delivery via potential ride-sharing providers and, in the future, autonomous vehicles.
Vancouver has the second lowest downtown office vacancy in North America at 2.7 per cent as of Q1 2019.
The tower was designed by James Cheng Architects and Adamson Associates Architects.
