Cressey plans new condo project on Cambie Street

The transformation of Cambie Street from a predominantly single family neighbourhood to a high density condo district continues at a rapid pace.

Anyone who has been away from the city since the Canada Line opened would likely be surprised at the transformation the street has undergone. Single family homes along Cambie have been assembled and demolished and several new condo projects have recently completed or are under construction along the rapid transit line.

Major developments have recently completed at the Marine Drive Canada Line station, with more towers on the way from Onni and Concord Pacific. At Oakridge Centre, Westbank is proposing a major redevelopment of the shopping centre, adding multiple new residential towers.

At the corner of Cambie and West 31st Avenue, Cressey is planning a two building development containing 74 units. Each building will be six stories tall, and the development will contain a total of 157 parking spaces.

The unit breakdown is as follows:

  • 26 one bedroom units
  • 27 two bedroom units
  • 12 three bedroom units
  • nine townhouses

The development will be constructed to a LEED Gold Standard, and feature a green roof. Here’s a look at the proposed development by Cressey:
