Ankenman Marchand Architects has designed two new infill buildings to bookend a heritage home on the border of Shaughnessy.
The development application for the house at 1215 West 16th Avenue calls for the heritage (B) house to be converted into three units, and the addition of two new infill buildings with two units each, for a total of seven units.
The heritage house, built in 1952 in the Arts and Craft style, will be restored and rehabilitated, and contain three three-bedroom units.
The new infill buildings each consist of two three-bedroom units, with exterior patios and roof decks. They will be clad in fibre cement siding and panels, wood, metal, and glass, to contrast with the heritage building.
Eight parking stalls are proposed, including one visitor space.
