Jaguar and Land Rover Vancouver plans to move three blocks south to a new dealership building at West 4th and Burrard.
The site was most recently home to an Esso service station and has been vacant for at least a year.
Kasian Architects’ Calgary office designed the new dealership building, which will be two-and-a-half storeys, with showroom and office space.
There will be three levels of underground parking with 66 stalls.
The dealership is asking for a relaxation in loading bay requirements, saying “the building differs from conventional retail where there is no need for regular delivery of consumer product for sales. The merchandise for sale are cars.”
“Vehicles will be driven from a remote storage compound to the building, and there will be minimal delivery of items like office supplies.”
Under the site’s existing C2B zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted.
