The inaugural Vancouver Mural Festival is transforming buildings in and around Main Street in Mount Pleasant this summer, bringing a splash of colour to the city.
The official mural festival day took place Saturday, August 20, but the more than 35 new murals are permanent, so you can check them out at your own speed — and they are definitely worth checking out!

More than 40 artists participated in the festival, from around B.C. and Canada as well as Germany and Brazil. To view the websites of participating artists, click here.
Graffiti artists, typographers, tattoo artists and illustrators are all represented in the various murals. The festival works with artists, who first submit a draft, which is then approved by the building owners who have agreed to participate.
The festival is sponsored by the City of Vancouver, Mount Pleasant BIA, Burrard Arts Foundation and the Georgia Straight.
