Sunrise Senior Living is planning a new 95-unit seniors care home next to the Corpus Christi Church in East Vancouver.
The architecture is inspired by the “craftsman style present in the first Shaughnessy area,” states the project architect, Integra Architecture Inc.
The care home will be built over one level of underground parking with 45 stalls for visitors and staff.
The development site, at the corner of Waverly Avenue and Clarendon Street in the Victoria-Fraserview neighbourhood, was carved out by subdividing the archdiocese property.
It’s surrounded by two other seniors homes: Shannon Oaks and Clarendon Court.
Waverly Elementary School is located to the northeast.
Existing street trees will be retained, and complemented with additional trees, shrubs, and planters.
This is the fourth Sunrise Senior Living facility designed by Integra Architecture.
