A vacant lot on Vanness Street near the Joyce-Collingwood SkyTrain station is earmarked for a six-storey, social housing building.
The Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency (VAHA), Community Land Trust and New Commons Development are behind the development, which will include 102 social housing units, 36 per cent of which will be two- and three-bedroom units.
The material palette includes corrugated metal panels in bronze, fibre cement plank siding, and brick. The form of the building is an “L” shape, and windows will be triple-glazed and shaded to help conserve energy.
There will be two amenity areas, one on level four, and an inner courtyard.
Architects are ZGF.
