Landa Global plans “destination” next to Olympic Oval

Landa Global has announced plans for a destination hotel, retail and residential development across from the Richmond Olympic Oval.

The developer acquired the site at 6851 and 6871 Elmbridge Way from Bene Group for $60 million in 2020.

The 3.5-acre site will include three towers, designed by Arno Matis Architecture and Rafii Architects, who worked on Landa Global’s nearby Cascade City residential development, which is nearing completion.

Toronto-based Studio Munge will design the hotel portion of the upcoming development — the studio is responsible for the luxurious interiors of the Rosewood Hotel Georgia and the JW Marriott Parq hotel.

The design will be inspired by the nearby Fraser River and will have a softness and flow to its design language, says architect Arno Matis.

“This will be totally unique, not only for Richmond, but within Greater Vancouver,” he says.

Landa Global has several high-profile projects currently underway, including the luxury 1818 Alberni condo tower, where units start at $5 million and up.
