When you think about going to the beach, Burnaby probably isn’t the first city in Metro Vancouver that comes to mind.
But when the Oasis towers in Concord Pacific’s “Concord Brentwood” development in Burnaby are complete, residents will have access to a 120,000 square foot “beachfront” and a 400-metre track and walking path.
Oasis is the latest phase of the 26-acre Concord Brentwood development, which will include 4,600 homes once complete. Oasis will consist of three towers with over 900 units and ground-floor retail and commercial space.
The developer says the beach idea was inspired by Canadians’ annual search for the sun in the winter months, and the popularity of warm weather destinations like Mexico and Hawaii.
“Views of water, whether it’s a lake, the ocean, or a river, provide people with a sense of relaxation, which is why we all go in search of tropical and waterfront vacations,” said Grant Murray, senior vice-president, Concord Pacific.
In colder months, residents will have access to an indoor pool, so as not to be shivering at the outdoor beach in January.
The first two towers of Concord Brentwood are on track to complete later this year.
