On July 19, Strand held a groundbreaking ceremony at the heart of Mount Pleasant. The occasion marked the construction commencement of their latest project named “Three Sixty.”
Three Sixty is a 9-storey office and creative industrial building in the heart of Mount Pleasant and the first project approved in the I-1C “light industrial” zone created by the City of Vancouver. The I1-C zone responds to Mount Pleasant’s need for more employment space by allowing greater density (6.0 FSR) and height along West 2nd Avenue, compared to the I-1 zoning (3.0 FSR) appointed throughout much of Mount Pleasant for commercial land.Â
“I am excited to be here. This project is something that we really want to see in our city. You can’t mandate people to come back to the office, but when you build a really cool space that people actually want to come to, it attracts people to this city. It’s what the future of building and employment looks like, and it’s a beautiful building. It will add to the vibrancy of this area, and we want to see a lot more buildings like this.” – Ken Sim, Mayor of Vancouver
