50 new murals showcased at annual Vancouver Mural Festival

The Vancouver Mural Festival in Mount Pleasant officially wrapped up yesterday, but it’s still a great time to head to the neighbourhood to check out the murals.

The annual event has become Vancouver’s largest free public art celebration, and showcases more than 50 new murals in Mount Pleasant and the False Creek Flats.

Over 100,000 people were expected at the festival this weekend.

Murals are located in alleys, on the sides of buildings and even on parking spaces in the area around Main and Broadway, as well as in the False Creek Flats near Main and Terminal. There are several in Strathcona as well.

The parking lot murals are located at the EasyPark lot at Main and East 7th Ave.

Guided tours by the Vancouver Mural Festival are run every Saturday afternoon, and more information is available here.
