Boutique developer Rendition Developments is preparing to go before the development permit board later this month for their upcoming development in Chinatown.
Keefer Gardens, at 239 Keefer Street between Main and Gore, will consist of 25 market strata units, two levels of commercial/office space, and ground floor retail.
The developer says the units will feature contemporary, minimalist interiors, with each suite having interactive capabilities to remotely control the environment. Suites will range from 530 to 1,200 sq ft.
There will be a large outdoor communal garden on the third floor, shared between office and residential owners, leading to an approximately 1,500 sq ft. indoor amenity space.
Brian Roche, president of Rendition Developments, says the idea is to create community with both residential and commercial owners sharing the amenity spaces.

The property at 239 Keefer Street was mostly recently home to Chinatown Supermarket, and sold in June 2016 for $6,350,000 or $194 per buildable sq ft., according to David Taylor of Colliers International.
Keefer Gardens heads to the development permit board November 27, with the start of marketing planned for February and construction commencing summer 2018. Architects are Mallen Gowing Berzins Architecture (MGBA).
