Preliminary design for Anthem Properties’ tower at West Georgia and Bidwell

One year after Anthem Properties acquired a Chevron gas station at West Georgia and Bidwell for $72 million, a conceptual rendering of the upcoming development has been released.

Anthem’s Spring 2018 newsletter shows a “preliminary concept rendering” of a residential tower designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) of New York.

The rendering appears to show a 37-storey tower at 1698 West Georgia Street, with trees across the tower façade, as well as on the rooftop.

According to Anthem, the tower will have approximately 120 homes with “sweeping views of the North Shore Mountains, Burrard Inlet and English Bay.”

The 16,369 sq ft. site falls within the City of Vancouver’s West End Community Plan for the Georgia Corridor, where higher density and taller buildings are permitted.

At the time of the property acquisition in 2017, Anthem CEO Eric Carlson said “the Anthem team, its consultants and its financial partners are enthusiastically looking forward to creating a stunning residential project on this high profile site in conjunction with the planning department of the City of Vancouver.”
