Local furniture manufacturer and owner of Inform Interiors, Niels Bendtsen, is behind an upcoming six-storey building in Railtown, that will serve as the company’s offices and manufacturing facilities.
The building will be one of the first under the “Creative Products Manufacturing” I-4 zoning. It will replace two small commercial buildings at 405 Railway Street currently home to Bensen Manufacturing and Inform’s showroom for design professionals.
The new building will feature recessed storefronts along the ground level, including a restaurant, as well as office and manufacturing space. It will have two main components, organized around a glassed-in, central atrium with open walkways.
There will be two rooftop terraces with views of the North Shore and downtown Vancouver, and three levels of underground parking.
Office of mcfarlane biggar architects + designers (omb) designed the new building.
It’s one of several new, mixed-use buildings proposed for the Railtown neighbourhood, north of Powell Street.
