The laneway that runs between the Telus Garden development and the Avigilon building on Robson Street is no ordinary alley — it features public art, a pedestrian-friendly design, retail spaces, and a large green wall.
MCM Interiors was looking for a product to help fill the gap in the green wall and cover the vents on the back of the Avigilon building. The cover needed to be more than 50 per cent open so the vents can function properly.
Wes McIntyre of WesCoast Spec Supply Ltd. wondered if the Vapor Cora ceiling and wall panel, which is 62 per cent open, could be used on an exterior application.
The manufacturer, Arktura, re-engineered the interior panel into and exterior panel and the installation was completed last week.
The Cora pattern installed on the green wall at 555 Robson utilizes the Cora pattern in jet black matte finish, and is designed to flow rhythmically from panel to panel.
Architects and designers will now be able to utilize standard grid based Vapor, Trace and Delta Drop panel systems for exterior applications.
