Towers to bookend Austin Heights Safeway in Coquitlam

Beedie Living plans to build two residential highrise towers bookending the Austin Heights Safeway in Coquitlam.

The developer has applied to the city to build the towers (26 and 27 storeys) at either end of the new Safeway store, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open in 2019.

There will be a total of 356 units in the development, and 741 parking spaces (including nearly 200 spaces for the Safeway store). Fifty-four per cent of units will be two bedroom or larger. Ten units of non-market rental housing is proposed for the podium.

Each tower will have its own amenities, including fitness room, sauna, steam room, kitchen, guest suite, children’s play area and outdoor amenity area.

The architect is Chris Dikeakos Architects.
