Central City Tower 2 announced at Invest Surrey

Nearly 15 years after the Central City shopping centre and tower opened in Surrey, a second phase of the development has been announced.

Blackwood Partners Management Corporation, owners of Central City, made the announcement at this week’s Invest Surrey conference.

The 500,000 sq ft., AAA office tower will be built on the site of a former Best Buy store at King George Boulevard and Old Yale Road. It will be constructed to a LEED Gold standard.

Invest Surrey is a new initiative to attract investment to the City of Surrey, in five key areas: advanced manufacturing; clean technology; agri-innovation; health technology; and creative economy.

Surrey is growing fast, with over 800 new residents moving to the city every month. The population is projected to increase by an additional 250,000 people in the next 30 years. By 2041, Surrey will likely be the biggest city in B.C.
