Two new condo towers coming to Davie Street

Two new condo towers are coming to Davie Street, replacing two rental apartment buildings between Jervis and Broughton.

Marcon Developments is planning two new condo towers, 18 and 19 storeys, directly west of the luxury “The Jervis” tower, currently under construction by Intracorp. The two new Marcon towers will contain a total of 153 units, with a three and four-storey podium containing 68 social housing units, over three levels of underground parking. The proposal is scheduled to go before the Development Permit Board on December 12, 2016.

The towers will replace a woodframe rental apartment complex known as Berkeley Place at 1345 Davie Street, as well as a three storey rental apartment building at the corner of Broughton and Davie streets.

According to West End Neighbours, Berkeley Place sold for $24 million in 2015. The area is a hotbed of development with several new rental apartment towers in the works, including Westbank’s twin tower proposal for the Safeway site at Davie and Cardero, among others.

Marcon is planning on developing two new 18 and 19 storey residential towers containing 153 condo units, as well as 68 social housing units in the podium.
