VIDEO & PHOTOS: Downtown Vancouver’s COVID-19 murals

The Vancouver Mural Festival is helping bring new life to boarded up storefronts across downtown Vancouver during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival says 40 artists have been enlisted to create murals as part of the #MakeArtWhileApart initiative.

Almost one month ago, we chronicled the empty streets of downtown Vancouver as non-essential businesses closed and storefronts were boarded up for security. One month later, the scene is looking less apocalyptic, thanks to local artists.

One month later, the plywood is still present, but many of the storefronts have been transformed through paint and perseverance.
