Architecture firm designs future head office in Mount Pleasant

Vancouver-based architecture studio EKISTICS is planning to build a new head office in Mount Pleasant at 101 West 6th Avenue.

The firm and its 50 employees are currently located at 1925 Main Street.

In development documents filed with the city, the architecture firm says it has been searching for a location for its new head office for four years, and stretched resources to buy the West 6th property “in order to keep our office close to where people live and in a desirable and exciting neighbourhood.”

The proposed development is four storeys, with light industrial use on the ground floor, and three floors of office space above.

EKISTICS plans to occupy two of the office floors, and lease the remaining space to local businesses that compliment their design work.

There will be two underground levels of parking with 19 parking spaces accessed from the laneway.

EKISTICS says the building will be industrial and modern, with clean lines and detailing.
