New interior renderings of renovated First Baptist Church at The Butterfly

Revery Architecture’s The Butterfly development and rehabilitation of the First Baptist Church has been awarded Canadian Architect magazine’s Award of Excellence.

The development unites the 1911-built First Baptist Church, and The Butterfly, a future 57-storey luxury residential tower developed by Westbank and now under construction.

As part of the development, the church is receiving seismic upgrades and rehabilitation of its interior, as well as an expanded community space which will include a 37-space childcare facility. New, never-before-seen renderings of the interior were released Monday to urbanYVR.

The Butterfly also includes a seven-storey, 61-unit affordable rental/social housing building. Anticipated completion of the project is scheduled for winter 2023.
