Forever 21 on Robson Street will be closing its doors by the end of this month, according to the Robson Street Business Improvement Association.
The flagship, 29,000 sq ft. location has been open since fall 2012, alongside Aldo and Sephora. The spot is a premium retail location, located less than half-a-block from Robson and Burrard, and is a newer building, something which is hard to find on the street.
Thankfully, the Forever 21 storefront will not be vacant for long.
Indigo announces Robson Street flagship
Today, Indigo confirmed that they will be opening a flagship store in the former Forever 21 location this fall.
“When we made the decision to leave our well-loved Robson Street Chapters store, we promised our customers that as soon as we could, we would be back,” said Indigo CEO Heather Reisman in a press release.
The popular bookseller has been operating a small location on Granville Street called IndigoSpirit after the closure of its flagship location at Robson and Howe, in a space now occupied by SportChek.
The addition of a flagship Indigo store is welcome news for Robson, which has been struggling with several vacant storefronts including the former locations of Joe Fresh, Guess, American Eagle and Milestones, among others.
MUJI recently opened a flagship store on the block, which should help peak interest in some of the available spots.
