Handsome light industrial building proposed for Mount Pleasant

Formwerks Architectural has designed a handsome mixed-use building for a corner lot in Mount Pleasant.

The new building, at West 3rd and Columbia, will be four storeys, with manufacturing on the main and second floors, and office use on the third and fourth.

There will be two levels of underground parking with 72 parking stalls.

The building will have an extensive landscaped roof with an amenity area, which includes seating areas, planter boxes and small trees.

The exterior will include several trellis panels for climbing clematis in various colours.

The site was previously home to Gescan, an electrical supply wholesaler.

This latest development is one of many in the planning stages or under development in Mount Pleasant, including an angular light industrial and office building by Strand at West 2nd and Crowe.
