Family hopes to build four townhouses at Granville and West 61st

The owners of an “orphaned lot” at Granville and West 61st are hoping to build four townhouses on the property. The development is custom designed for the client, with their family intending to occupy three of the four units.

Matthew Cheng Architect Inc. has applied for a development permit to construct the three-storey building, which will have one level of underground parking with four parking stalls.

Three of the units will have elevators from the parking into the units themselves. The townhouses will be clad in “Dutch Quality Stone” with a lighter colour on the first and second floors. The top floor will be a darker colour.

Under the site’s RM-8N zoning, the application is “conditional” so it may be permitted; however, it requires the decision of the Director of Planning.
