INDOCHINO opens stylish new head office at Robson & Granville

Vancouver-based online suit and men’s clothing company INDOCHINO has moved into a new head office at Robson and Granville in the building above the Old Navy store.

INDOCHINO is the world’s largest “made-to-measure” menswear company.

The new 14,000 sq ft. head office is more than double the size of INDOCHINO’s previous HQ, and is home to the company’s more than 80 head office staff members.

The open plan space features collaborative work spaces and a massive 4,000 sq ft. patio.

The new HQ also coincides with a number of senior appointments to the company’s executive team, with the hopes of achieving the company’s goal of becoming a dominant menswear brand.

The company has roots on Vancouver Island. In 2006, while attending the University of Victoria, Heikal Gani was faced with daunting task of buying his first suit.

He visited local shops but couldn’t find anything that fit well. He found designer styles online that he liked, but they were too expensive.

Frustrated, he settled for a generic off-the-rack suit that required expensive tailoring.

He knew there had to be a better way for men to shop for suits. Heikal approached his classmate and best friend Kyle Vucko, and together they developed a business plan for what would become INDOCHINO.

The two twenty-somethings put their studies on hold and headed for Shanghai. Heikal began building relationships within the tailoring community and set up INDOCHINO’s operations in China, while Kyle becane CEO, commuting between Victoria and Shanghai.

In September 2007, the company’s website went live with an initial selection of about 10 suits and shirts.
