Marine Gateway offers Cineplex theatre, T&T, and condos

Vancouver’s first true mixed-use development on the Canada Line has been open for nearly a year now, and offers a convenient one-stop shop for its residents and commuters.

Marine Gateway, developed by PCI, is a residential, retail and office development built around the Marine Drive Canada Line station. It is also across the street from several new residential towers like MC2 by Intracorp, NorthWest by Onni, and W1 by Concord Pacific, with more developments planned.

There are over 400 condominium units in the two towers at Marine Gateway.

One of the biggest draws at Marine Gateway is the Cineplex VIP theatre, which is a nice alternative to the busy Scotiabank theatre downtown, as well as a large Winners, Shoppers Drug Mart, Steve Nash Fitness World and T&T Supermarket. There is also a Starbucks, CIBC, liquor store and other merchants.

The Cineplex has 11 screens, including three VIP cinemas which offer guests stadium seating with reclining chairs, extra leg room, side tables, and food and drink delivered to your seat.

Across the street, at Marine and Cambie, stands one of Vancouver’s newest art installations, the 13-metre tall “Golden Tree” by Douglas Coupland. The public art piece is an exact, to scale replica of Stanley Park’s famous Hollow Tree, coated in a gold finish.

The convenience factor at Marine Gateway is high, especially for residents who live in the towers above the development, who have shopping and transit right at the doorstep. Hopefully future developments elsewhere on rapid transit in Metro Vancouver will be as well-integrated into the adjacent transit stations as Marine Gateway is.
