Vivagrand Developments is moving forward with plans for a 32-storey market condo tower and 12-storey office tower at a site it owns at Cambie and West 42nd, across from Oakridge.
The site is currently occupied by a single-storey strip mall.
The new development, designed by IBI Group, will include 257 strata condominiums and approximately 106,000 sq ft. of office space.
There will also be ground floor retail along Cambie Street and a small plaza at Cambie and West 42nd.
The office building façade will consist of broad horizontal bands of alternating glass and copper/bronze-tinted metal.
The Vivagrand project will also include a public, 37 space childcare facility and a “youth centre,” although it’s unclear exactly what that means.
There will be four levels of underground parking, with 303 vehicle stalls and 536 class A bicycle parking spaces.
A community open house will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2020, from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at the Peretz Centre at 6184 Ash Street, Vancouver.
The neighbourhood is undergoing a major transformation, anchored by Westbank and QuadReal’s major redevelopment of Oakridge Centre.
Adjacent blocks have already been up-zoned as part of the Cambie Corridor Plan to permit new residential towers, with proposals from Polygon, Coromandel and others making their way through the system.
