New rental apartments to replace West Broadway Denny’s

One of Vancouver’s few remaining Denny’s restaurants will soon be the site of a new rental apartment tower.

The Denny’s on West Broadway will be replaced by a new 16-storey rental apartment tower, with 153 units and 168 parking spaces.

The building will be made up of 27 studios, 70 one bedroom units, 41 two bedroom units and 15 three bedroom units. 30,220 square feet of retail will make up the ground floor of the development. There’s no word if Denny’s will come back to the address.

According to Vancouver Market, the site was sold to Jameson Development Corp. for $26.5 million in 2016.

The property’s attractiveness was no doubt increased by its location along the future Broadway Line, as well as the great views of the downtown skyline.

Architects for the new development are IBI Group.
