A new, two-storey retail building coming to Robson Street could be the future home of a highly-anticipated retailer.
Both Apple and UNIQLO are reportedly looking for new retail space in downtown Vancouver, but finding the right spot has proved challenging.
The new building, designed by Francl Architecture, will have a clean and contemporary design featuring dark metal and glass façade.
Retail experts say the building is likely being purpose-built for a particular retailer.
“The design proposal is more of a general placeholder and something that would be modified,” said Craig Patterson, founder and editor-in-chief of Retail Insider.
The sidewalk in front of the new building will be wider, similar to the sidewalks in front of Sephora and the former Forever 21 location (soon to be Indigo). Those buildings were also designed by Francl Architecture.
The second storey will be set back slightly, and the building will feature an extensive green roof.
