Angled glass office building proposed for Cambie and West 8th

A new office building is proposed for a small site behind the BC Liquor Store at Cambie Street and West 8th Avenue, across from Whole Foods.

Architects Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership, designers of several new buildings downtown including the MNP Tower and the Trump Tower, have designed a 68,000 square feet, nine storey office building above retail space at grade. The site is currently home to a small one storey retail building that formerly housed Max’s Burgers.

The new office building will feature three levels of underground parking with car share spaces and bicycle parking. The exterior will be covered in fritted glass to help reduce solar gain. It will just sneak under the view cone meant to preserve views of Vancouver City Hall.

A community open house is scheduled for February 21, 2017 from 5 – 8 p.m., at the Holiday Inn Vancouver-Centre (711 West Broadway), with city staff and the applicant team available to answer questions.
