Even more new developments are coming to the Mount Pleasant light industrial zone with an angled, four-storey manufacturing and office building designed by MCMP Architects for Strand Developments.
The new building at 302, 328, and 336 West 2nd Avenue and Alberta Street will replace a small commercial building home to a motorcycle shop, winery and e-bike store.
The 18,772 square foot site is trapezoid in shape and is located at the confluence of three streets – West 2nd Avenue, West 3rd Avenue and Alberta Street, providing unique, angular views of the intersection.
The ground floor will be made up of manufacturing space, as well as the building lobby. The upper floors will be made up of general office space intended to serve Mount Pleasant’s burgeoning tech office community.
There will be an amenity outdoor space on the roof and an extensive green roof with small trees and foliage.
The primary building materials are cast concrete and glass. Two glass glazing treatments are used to establish rhythm and pattern, with the amount of clear glazing changing around the façade in response to its solar orientation.
