One of the last remaining lots on the north side of West 2nd in the Olympic Village will soon be home to a new condo building.
Aurmon False Creek Development Ltd. plans to construct a 12-storey building on the property at West 2nd and Wylie, across from the Maynard’s Block. The vacant lot is currently home to a community garden.
The project was revised slightly to reduce the chances of shadowing over the amenity spaces of adjacent buildings, including the heritage conversion building “The Exchange”, which is located across the lane.
The new condo building is tentatively called “Olympic Station,” and will contain 133 strata units, including:
- six studios
- 83 one-bedroom
- 35 two-bedroom
- nine three-bedroom
There will be a total of 137 parking spaces. The exterior of the building will feature a light and dark grey colour scheme, with blue accents on the windows and blue/green screens on the laneway side of the building.
A private courtyard on the ground level will provide a space for a children’s play area. There will also be a rooftop amenity patio with views to downtown Vancouver and North Shore mountains. The patio will include urban agriculture plots, and spaces for entertaining and socializing.
The architect on the project is dys architecture.
