Passive House townhouses slated for East Vancouver corner

Three single-family homes on East 7th Avenue near Clark Drive will come down to make way for a 15-unit stacked townhouse development, built to Passive House standards.

The design by Cornerstone Architecture includes a mixture of two and three-bedroom townhouses, arranged in two blocks. There will be a single level of underground parking with 15 stalls, and 44 bicycle parking stalls.

The façade will be clean and modern, with minimalist materials of predominantly yellow brick and white cementitious panels on the upper levels.

Several elements will help the development meet Passive House standards, including increased wall thickness, triple glazed thermally broken windows, Heat Recovery Ventilation, and heat pump hot water systems.
