36-storey Polaris condominium tower coming to Burnaby’s Metrotown

Transca Development has launched presales for their upcoming 36-storey tower — Polaris — at Nelson and Imperial streets in Burnaby.

The tower will have 313 units including one, two and three-bedroom suites, as well as a limited number of townhomes.

The developer says the building will be a new landmark in the Metrotown neighbourhood, and residents will be able to “find (their) way home by the light of this iconic landmark in the desirable centre of Burnaby.”

A large, LED lantern on the tower is pictured in renderings, so we assume that’s what they’re referring to.

Residents will enjoy a “hotel-inspired lobby,” and indoor and outdoor amenity spaces.

The architect on the project is IBI Group, and interiors are by BYU (Bob’s Your Uncle) Design. Completion is targeted for 2020.

Transca is currently developing the Primrose project on Cambie Street near Queen Elizabeth Park, and has also developed several major projects in Asia.
