Ekistics Architecture has designed a six-storey, secured market rental building for the corner of West 4th and Balaclava in Kitsilano.
The development will include 35 secured rental units, with 20 per cent assigned to moderate income households, as part of the Moderate Income Rental Housing Pilot Program.
The unit mix will be as follows:
- eight studios
- 14 one-bedroom
- 13 two-bedroom
There will be a total of 15 underground parking stalls and 54 bike spaces. An indoor and outdoor amenity space is planned for the corner of West 4th and Balaclava, adjacent to the building lobby.
A community open house will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2020, 5-8 pm at H.R. MacMillan Space Centre (Lobby), 1100 Chestnut Street, Vancouver.
The project is about one block away from another proposal at the site of building fire near West 4th and Macdonald Street, on the former site of the Topanga Cafe.
