Rosewood Hotel Georgia sold to local company Pacific Reach

Vancouver-based Pacific Reach Properties is the new owner of the Rosewood Hotel Georgia at Georgia and Howe.

The hotel will continue to be managed by Rosewood, and will retain its name.

“The Rosewood Hotel Georgia is one-of-a-kind and we’re thrilled to add it to our growing portfolio of high-value real estate investments,” said Pacific Reach CEO Azim Jamal.

“Our firm is rooted in Vancouver and, for me personally, this landmark property is a special and important acquisition.”

The 5-star hotel was extensively renovated and redeveloped in 2011 by Delta Land Group. The $120 million renovation restored the heritage building to its original glory.

A 48-storey luxury condo tower, The Private Residences at Hotel Georgia, was added above the hotel.

Bruce Langereis, president of Delta Land Group says he is delighted that Pacific Reach are the new owners of the property.

“We are delighted that Azim and his company are the new owners of this special property. The Hotel Georgia renovation and development of the Private Residences was a labour of love for me and my company. The Jamal family are committed to this city and to continuing the great history of the Hotel Georgia as it nears its centenary.”

The 156-room hotel is home to Hawksworth Restaurant, Reflections terrace, Sense® spa, meeting facilities; a heritage ballroom and spacious lounges.

In 2015, it was named one of the “Best Canada Hotels & Resorts” and “Best B.C. Hotels & Resorts” on Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List. The hotel was also included on U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hotels in Canada” list as well as the “Top 25 Hotels in Canada”.
