Six-storey seniors home proposed for Granville Street

Amica Senior Lifestyles and developer Intracorp have applied to rezone a land assembly of seven single-family lots for a six-storey seniors housing project.

The design by RH Architects will consist of 226 units (mix of independent living, assisted living, memory care), 100 per cent of which will be licensed by Vancouver Coastal Health.

Amica notes that in 2016, 41 per cent of residents of the west side and Kerrisdale were 50 or older, with that number projected to increase to 49 per cent by 2026.

Atop the building will be a rooftop amenity space with outdoor seating and gardening space. Underground parking will consist of 115 stalls and 28 bicycle parking spaces. A Port Cochere in the rear lane will be utilized for the pick-up and drop-off of residents and visitors.
