The new St. Paul’s Hospital is set to transform the area around Station Street and spur major redevelopment in the neighbourhood.
Keltic Development is capitalizing on this transformation with plans for a nine-storey, strata medical office and industrial building at 220 Prior Street, next to the future St. Paul’s Hospital.
The sleek glass office tower is targeted at medical users, and will begin selling in 2021. The site is currently occupied by a nondescript warehouse building.
“As the only strata project beside the new hospital, this building offers nine storeys of strata office and industrial, state of the art building design and top-tier amenities,” states Keltic Development.
The architects are Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership and the listing broker is Avison Young.
New St. Paul’s Hospital expected to open 2026
The first phase of the St. Paul’s Hospital is expected to open in 2026, consisting of a 11-storey, state-of-the-art acute care hospital. The project cost is $1.9 billion.
Other buildings will house outpatient and specialty clinics, primary care, research programs, health care technology, biomedical and life sciences businesses. A hotel and rental housing for health care workers are also planned. There will be a large public plaza and two child care facilities on site.
The existing St. Paul’s Hospital was listed for sale in 2019 by CBRE, however, the asking price was not disclosed. It’s not known if the site was sold or to whom.
