The Slide office building on Great Northern Way has won the BOMA BC TOBY award for “The Outstanding Building of the Year.”
The Slide, developed by Low Tide Properties and designed by Perkins and Will, includes 160,000 square feet of office space over seven storeys adjacent to Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
It includes a unique, red tiled pavilion that will soon be home to a Nemesis coffee shop.
Low Tide Properties President Andrew Chang says he’s grateful to BOMA BC for the 2021 TOBY Award.
“We place a strong focus on design and functionality when it comes to our new developments, and take a ‘tenants first’ approach in how we manage all our buildings. The Slide was developed and managed with these principles in mind.”
“And with the incorporation of an expansive public plaza and a distinctive red petal retail pavilion, our hope is that it will serve as a focal point and gathering place for this exciting new community at South Flatz,” he added.
The development was designed to LEED Gold standard and also won the UDI 2018 Award for Excellence in Urban Development.
